Hi! With Magnetic Ring.

Skol, almost hallo in skodish, if there was such a thing. Nearly two years, proud owner of the 1.9 Classic Oct' Estate, from '06. DSG started playing up at the first sign of November last chill starts. i,e, gears would stick in 2 and 3, or worse - jump down from 5 to 3 without warning. Problem went away once temp. gauge up to quarter mark. After about six weeks nail-biting and forum visiting, arranged checkup at local Skoda buffs' garage. Spike showed up in rear offside bearing magnetic ring, signalling possible corrosion. Not sure if spike was symptomatic of gearbox error. New ring means new bearing, for skodas and vw's alike. After a 200 mile run, manual shifting all the way, the ABS and slippery-surface light up together, permanently, and hey presto, auto-shift back on line,

Back to the Skoda doc' for replacement bearing. Work horse back on track.
