Just had a quote to check on lowering springs cost

To see what lowering would impact on my insurance through a known broker on here (lowering springs like eibachs not coilovers)

Unmodified quotes I got a recent comparison quote to get a measure on insurance renewal, around £286 with AXA

Thats the cheapest I've ever seen with a decent insurer !

That said I don't think I ticked anything about the wheels when I did this recent comparison to get an idea what price unmolested is. But I still have my standard wheels and could easily put them back on. Not that I want to though

Currently paying slightly more with Admiral and thats with different factory Skoda wheels mentioned (Spiders) and they weren't bothered at all when I mentioned it.

Called for the potential mod, just lowering to begin with, and keeping the wheels and its £380

Wonder how this compares with others...I will also check with existing insurance when it comes to renewal, not fitted yet obviously. Have a fear that it might make them unquotable and with getting older if anything was hoping on the trend of insurance coming down not going up !

I spoke to Ali at Unit 18 he thought maybe that sportier springs were offered on the Mk1 vrs as a standard option by the way, I can't find any information on this however.
