Electric windows

Featured Replies

I posted a while ago about the auto up feature on my Octy Vrs drivers window. Sometimes when closing it will go so far then go down by itself as if a safety cut off kicks in. Tried resetting the motor as someone suggested by closing the window then holding the switch for about five seconds, but it still does it quite often.

Not sure if anyone can help or am I just going to have to put up with it?

Mine does it from time to time but I can live with it.

Me too, bit annoying if it starts raining and try to get the window up quickly, only to find it going back down again and soaking me

Will enquire at the dealer next time the car is going in!

I'll post if anything useful comes of it but if anyone else makes a breakthrough then I would be pleased to hear. Cheers!!!

i've had this on my Fabia (and my *cough* citreon before-hand) - i've always thought it to be the safety feature and because you're driving along, the wind blows the window in slightly as its shutting and it catches at the top of the window (hence safety kicks in and it comes down again)

... may well be wrong though!

It does it when you are stopped about to switch off and get out, usually at the end of the journey ie; shops or returning home!

My octy VRS does this as well but I used to have a MK4 gti and it done it so it must be a family trait

Mine does it aswell :(

another sufferer here

have considered spraying some silicon lubricant onto the seals incase they are a bit dry. i'll remember to actually do it one day
