PD And CR

Featured Replies

is there any way to notice the two? apart from the sound? will it be printed on the log book, or come up in a HPI check?

Don't take this the wrong way but the search button is your friend! Been covered in the Octavia section once or twice.

From what I remember the engine cover is different.

Not a problem, you might just find the answer quicker ;-)

Take it for a drive, if you get a shove in the back it’s a PD, it it feels pretty flat then it’s a CR.

Whip the engine cover off, if you are greeted with a rat's nest of silver fuel piping you have a CR unit.

All of the fuel piping in the PD engine is buried in the cylinder head. CR stuff sits on top.

This is for the Octavia MkII...
