Polo - Shaking Idle

Featured Replies

Your thoughts peeps!

My mate has a Polo 1.4 TDI and he is having problems at idle. If he drives the car around town it is fine however if he takes it on the motorway sometimes this is where his troubles starts.. For days!

He will come off the motorway and when at lights etc the car is shaking alot! He finds aswell when he puts his clutch in the car will shake that much it stalls. After a few days of driving around town again all this stops!!

We have checked VCDS and no faults at all... Any ideas?

We just cant work out why motorway driving would cause this - He has found that sometimes when on the motorway his turbo will cut out too. Switching the engine off and on again fixes this issue.

By "the turbo cuts out" do you mean it goes into limp mode? You would think it would log a fault.

Could it be a vacuum leak perhaps?
