What could it be ?

We've got a squeak front drivers side wheel, when driving along after a few miles the wheel starts squealing when you put foot on brake ever so slightly squeal goes, foot of brake squeal comes back its worse when doing a right hand turn, its had new pads fitted no disc though as it had enough meat left on it, taken car to seller and he greased the wheel bearing and grinned the pads a little, caliper seems to be going back into its position any ideas ?

The caliper is maybe not coming back just enough, so maybe after they used Brake Cleaner they needed to Lube the Calliper sliders.

If they greased the bearing we will assume that being professionals they used the correct grease and have not left the bearing going dry.

Will also assume they were happy with the bearing.

Checked its tightness.

Assume that there is Copper Grease on the back of the Pads.

(Or anti Squeal shims)

I would if happy that the brakes are OK and all is tight,

Do some hard braking, intermittent braking in a safe place, and wear those new pads in a little.

Do not cook them, and look after them until matured a bit.

Shame that new pads had a few hundreds of miles of usage taken off with a grinder.

?? Was this all done at a VW Dealrship,?

If car is under warranty, be aware of the Bearings and possible need for attention.

Not dealer, its a 54 plate seat arosa with 47k on it , the mechanics put plenty of copper grease on bearing and it did help for 50 miles, the pads when replaced put copper grease on them when fitting, he's removed them and looked fine and replaced, wheel doesn't bind when jacked free turning , however once warm its squeaks it does look like the bearing hadn't had grease for some time so could have dried, would this therefore require replacing and maybe the caliper?, he has said no problem he will fix , he is very genuine ( looks it anyway)

You do not use Copper Grease for Bearing,

that is a little for the back of the pads, pins etc.

He will or should be using High Temperature Bearing grease of the likes of maybe Lithium Moly.

Certainly not copper grease.

The bearing should be packed anyway, and is possibly on the way out.

eg & not expensive.

Son has just driven 150 miles and squeak is still there, the guy who sold car said they are miltek pads and can squeal sometimes ? When you just dab the brakes it goes away then returns only to go once you dab brakes again and when taking bends or roundabout seems to be louder ?

That's a sticking caliper.

That's a sticking caliper.

Sticking caliper how to un stick ? Is it a replacement ? Could it be the pad with no leading edge

Just turn the radio up, should do the trick.

Or strip and clean the caliper, re apply a small amount of copper grease to the BACK of the pad and reassemble. If it still squeaks it isn't the calliper/pads.
