Sounds like it has a police marker on it to me.

This ^. Only been pulled once so far in mine, but that was Glasgow. Never so much as had a look from the police in this area.

The only time I have ever been pulled in my vRS was the first week of owning it.

These two coppers were certain they had busted me for an uninsured vehicle, and proceeded to treat me like a criminal. One of the questions asked was ''this is a rather powerful car for someone of your age isn't it?'' Who the hell are they to judge what I can afford etc? I was 21 at the time. I was losing my patience at this point, as they continued to probe me with questions.

I was the one in the end that could see what the issue was, and smugly asked them to do a vehicle check on the cars original number plate. ''Oh yes Sir, that corresponds now.''

Their 'super-computer' wasn't so super at updating itself, and it was simply down to the fact that I had transferred my private plate over from the car I had just sold.

I had no apology from them, and thus drove off leaving them in a soot cloud. They left me rather bitter with the whole experience, and with a cold takeaway on the passenger seat to take home. Grrrrr.

My thinking was that they see me as a young guy in a sporty looking hatch. Lets face it, they probably don't know whats under the bonnet, probably think its a 200 hp petrol. Always makes me think though, two cops could say you were doing anything and aslong and their word matches each others it looks like they are in the right and you don't have a leg to stand on. The first thing they said was that I was doing 75, don't know about you but if I can see a police car in my rear view mirror I am always very careful to be bang on the limit. Further to that it's the attitude of them when I told him its a dual carriageway, pointed at the two lanes and the national speed limit sign and told him it was 70. I sat my driving test on that very road ! Mustn't have had anything else to do, needles to say I wasn't issued with a NIP

sometimes you just cannot win. If the police want to pull you they will find a reason. the drug search seems to be a common one atm. ive heard of a few people having this done to them after owning a distinctive car for years. personally my vrs gets followed very often, even been pulled for driving too carefully while driving at 20 in a 20 zone a young lad in a fastish car or bike just attracts attension

Lol

Well you do live in St Mellons Lloyd :p :p :p :D

Just kidding :)

I would be having a word with my local station to see if they can find out.

The only thing with a police marker it can't be removed it goes on the number plate not the car and driver so if it has a police marker on it then it will stay with that car until some on puts a private reg on I now this due to buying a car with a marker on it

that copper must of been stupid! dual carriage ways are 70mph!

unless otherwise marked...

Back in 92 my first car was a (old reg 1980 model) V reg Mark 2 escort.

Bog standard 1.3L No alloys no mods no nothing!

In my first year of driving during Christmas week I got stopped 17 times

and given a 'producer' each time. I went to Chadwell Heath Police station with

all 17 at once. LOL No offences had been commited, I was just a young lad in

a car.

I haven't been pulled over since I started driving - in 1974 - excepting once when going rather too fast on the Northwich bypass by a speed-gun equipped policeman and got done for 62mph in a 40mph! That was in a Peugeot 205GTi in about 1990...

I over took a police man in an unmarked Ford Mondeo doing about 85mph on a single lane road on the way to Hereford.

He immediately pulled me over (flashing lights), he got out - was dress in police uniform, came over & told me to be carefully & said that VRS's are great cars. With that he got back in his car & drove away.

True Story!!

Sounds to me your cars marked pal!!..

Go to the Station and ask for a report on your car and cHeck see if it's marked

Been pulled a few times. Twice for my front plate as i run the 'big mouth' bumper with a sticker plate and just used the its a genuine skoda bumper trick.

And pulled when i had a bad boost leak cause he thought i booted it, which led to him drug searching half my car as he gave up after me telling him hes wasting his time. Silly Coppers.

Other than that i get ignored, its great.

Been stopped loads of times for no plate on the front but I keep cable ties and say I just left a show, stopped for wheels poking out the arch. One guy said they were dangerous because they were curbed :/

But like everyone has said yours sounds marked

I've only been pulled in my Rapid. Surprisingly little attention in the Octavia but very nearly got pulled once (decided to boot it from some temp traffic lights, flew off to 60+ and then slowed down for approaching village - looked in the mirror and there was an unmarked Volvo right behind. He ffollowed me for a bit and then got bored. It must have looked very suspicious though!)

But yeah only ever been pulled cos I was being stupid.

Not been pulled once in the vrs in 2 years. But in my felicia it's every other week for a drugs search.

It could depend we're your from as to I you get stopped often. The big cities, Manchester, Liverpool etc the VRS is common for criminals to use or steal to use while the commit crime. There so quick and handle well around town- should they need out run the Plod (most General Purpose Police cars are 1.6 petrol like an Astra) they are one of the best cars and cheap to aquire compared to a Golf etc.

No criminal worth his weight in salt would use a diesel fabia. Nor would police target one unless it had been driven through halfords ripspeed backwards.

The only cars I target at work are Mazda mps,s Audi s/rs and majority of bmws post 2007. They account for the majority of stolen cars.

Then there's the local bag head cars that get passed around.

Stopped a couple of times, mainly because they couldn't keep up. One was a genuine emergency, the other my stupid driving. In both cases they were Ok and I just got a *******ing.

The new car screams unmarked patrol car, I'm expecting a queue of cars sat behind whilst pootling along at 65-70 on the inside lane....

Hence my debadging.

It ll certainly help but ultimately you re still a target for car key burglary or jacking :( unfortunately the courts take tomv and twoc lightly.

I hear you, it seems the thieves are getting braver.

Going for an APR remap later this year, this requires a code (Of your choosing)

entering via the cruise control stalk before ignition will respond.

Even with the key it won't start until the code is entered successfully.

My keys are kept in a hidden steel strongbox overnight anyway.

Jacking is another story I suppose. But I do live in a relatively nice neighborhood

near the countryside.

Had mine 3 years and never been pulled, tinted windows lowered, no backbox and BRIGHT yellow wheels....... maybe its cos my mother is a Police Sergeant. I like to think not though!
