At last it's here! (56K beware)

On Monday, my new Octavia will be exactly one month old. It's wondeful to be finally driving it after a five month wait. It's a 1.9 105PS TDI PD Elegance with MaxiDOT, Multi-Function Steering Wheel and Audience Stereo in Stone Grey with a beige (ivory) interior. I wanted to wait until I had a chance to wash and wax it before posting some pics. There have been a couple of minor niggles but hopefully these will be sorted out soon :)

The pics  (edit: fixed pics  )

what is MaxiDOT ?

It's an enhanced display for the Multi-Function Computer, it give you nice symbols and written alerts for various things in the car and also displays stereo information etc. I forgot to mention it came as a package with the Multi Function Steering Wheel on my car.

Very, very nice.Love the interiors on the new ones

It's a lovely looking car.

I ordered mine last Saturday, also a 1.9 105PS TDI PD Elegance. Mine is sahara beige with ivory (duo cloth/leather), and the DSG box. I'm waiting for confirmation of the delivery date, but they said 3-4 months. DSG box is to blame for that delay, they said.

What was the reason for the five month wait in your case? Christmas and Easter holidays at the works?.

EDIT

Also, what is that thing on top of the dash in the middle by the screen?

Did yours still come with the 6 disc changer in the back or did you lose it for the Audience radio?

Johnpritt - That thing is a sensor for something.

Err, thanks Jeff, I had sort of figured that out myself ;) but was more interested in knowing a sensor for what. My fault, should have been clearer

roo, the Audience has a 6CD changer built in, so there isn't one in the boot. johnpritt, apparently that's the sunlight radiation sensor

edit: John, the wait was due to my first car being damaged in transit and then supply problems with the PD engines

lovely car mate

Looks lovelly mate, mines just turned up at the dealers this morning (2.0 TDI Elegance estate in Graphite grey) so should get it next weekend hopefully, looking at the pictures of yours makes me look forward to it even more

Can everyone stop crowing about getting the new Octys, until mine arrives please?

Cheers :D

Lovely car by the way matey, I would have gone for the beige interior had it not been a company car and liable to visit building sites now and again.

No deal ;) It really is great, you'll love it!

I know the feeling, with waiting five months. I like the beige but felt it to impractable with kids, but saying that mines black and I've already cleaned it after 4 days cos of a birdie ****machine:mad: Anyway, it looks good and probably sounds good with the audience.

Very nice, not sure about the beige leather, but then it isn't my car!! ;)

You got any pics of this MaxiDot display? Sounds quite nice.

Wonder if there any plans for more powerful diesel engines from the vast VAG stable in the future? Maybe a vRS diesel or similar may emerge? Wouldn't mind a Tavia 2 when I eventually outgrow the Fabia (no time soon) but can't help thinking I might find it a tad slow. It being a heavier car and only another 10bhp if opting for the 2.0TDi.

Can we have pics please mate when yours turns up?

Wardy, I'll post some pics for you soon :)

Well there should be as there is nothing that says you lose the 6 disc in the boot when you upgrade the stereo, just that you get the 6 discs in the dash.

Also: http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/content/showroom/comparator.aspx

fill it out for the octy and go to options:

Audience radio, integrated CD changer [RAC]

roo, the comparator isn't actually a Skoda product, they have simply included it on their site so the data may not be entirely accurate. In any case I bought the car thinking that the boot changer would be eliminated so I won't contest it. I do have some other problems that need attention though.

Wardy, as promised some pictures of MaxiDOT:)

edit: thank you for all the compliments, I must say it's been a little weird finding random stangers staring at your car and scurrying off as they see you approach!

Hi Dave,

It's at the dealers, but due to being away and not managing to sort a few things out I won't be collecting it till this weekend

I have visited it though ;)

Like the look of your car. The beige looks really good. I wasn't sure about it so I chickened out and opted for onyx interior. I can't wait to get my Octavia 1.9TDI Elegance. Ordered it a couple of weeks ago but I'm having to wait until the end of July. One garage said I would have to wait until at least September because I wanted multifunction steering wheel and ESP as extras. They had a very similar spec car in the showroom but in a colour I didn't want. They tried to get me to buy that one, which put me off them. I phoned the garage I am now getting my car from and they said they could get it in July for me. So well done to the salesman in the 1st garage who managed to lose himself a cash sale

The beige looks nice but I hope it's well Scotchgarded or similar

Looks fantastic mate, my new Octavia Estate 19.tdi elegance is coming 1st July in Island Green Metallic looking foward to that day :) , unfortunatly because it is company car could not stretch to the Maxi dot, but have had the light assistant feature fitted which is useful I think!

Once again great car

Cheers

Wow, looks a cool car - ordered my Laurent & Klement last week and am half excited and half panic-stricken having seen a couple of older (02) Skodas with fairly dark beige leather. Been worrying all those brochure pics of lovely light leather are misprints! Hope my leather is as light as nice as yours looks - anyone confirm this!?

I didn't go near the light interior as I have a 2 month old and a 2 1/2 year old. My older daughter seems to deposit a skips worth of rubish over the seats and footwell every time she gets in, plus she keeps putting her feet against the back of my seat  My wife seems to put here feet anywhere that the footwell mat isn't :( . Hate to think what it would look like in a light leather. Marks disapear a treat using a wet wipe :) Also, personally , I think the light interior would have been too much with Shara Beige paintwork. Just my view. I think the light interior looks smarter when it's clean though.

It is that light, but I have cloth not leather :)
