Car spotting madness

Featured Replies

Had a good lot last night - all within 10 mins of town driving near me :)

- Two new Merc CLS AMGs (look very nice, best looking three-pointed star in a while IMO. Sound ace too, lovely burble from the V8)

- New Maserati Quattroporte (tasty woman driving too, always a bonus)

- Dark grey Ferrari 612 Scaglietti (thought it was pig ugly when it came out, but it's growing on me)

Just thought I'd share that with you :)

Wonder where we all go wrong

Steve

Saw a nice silver SL500 in the services near where I used to live tonight, Plate read

2 4 TEA  Cracking personal plate that! :D

With the Run to the Sun traffic passing by me, I saw the funniest sight yesterday - A Cut and Shut VW camper van - Looked like it had a smaller wheelbase than a bedford Rascal. But looked cool with it. Like a "Smart" VW Camper. :D

At the risk of banging on like an old f*rt, I've got two cars that turn heads, not counting my Skoda, and neither of them cost a fortune. Get something classic, and you'll know people are looking at your car and thinking "Mmmm I've always loved those", even if it didn't cost 60 grand. Gives a nice warm feeling, as well as being fun to drive

My car turns heads, but it really annoys me because i bought it because I like it, it drives well and its my mode of transport. Others just see it as an object of desire or talking point. I hate that attention :(.

All that said i did see 4 CLS AMG's last week in stoke area, and then 2 SL55AMG today, one decided he wanted to go fast.... and what a sound it made

SL AMG's actually make the ground shake....

Walking past a bar on the quayside in Newcastle on Thursday evening, four cars in a row which I thought made a tasty combination:

DB9

M3 Conv

F430 Spider

DB9

Stood and stared for a good 30 secs or so! Was especially impressed to see two DB9s in one place, and the Ferrari looked very tasty.

Near the Pitcher and Piano by any chance?

Saw a lamourghini Countash last night and probably more interesting a 450 bhp Subaru Impreza, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the acceleration (in car :D) was immense, 0-100 around 11 secs, and then the noise...

And just to top it all off, the boss of our company has just laid his hands on a new BMW 745i supercharged Hamann, 05 plate with 200 miles on the clock, mainly RR work.

I love a nice standard Mini personally. I'm like Nick I guess, old fart. But he's right, Ferrari's are great but sometimes a car worth just a few k is something special too.

Probably the quickest ugliest car so far... :P

My neighbour works for Porsche GB. His business card reads "Carrera GT and 959 specialist". Before I knew him the only 959 I'd seen was in a showroom around 1990...

On Saturday there were three 959s he had to take out *sigh*. Not a job I think I could ever tire of - I know he hasn't!!

I saw a Ferrari Enzo on saturday around the back lanes of Ongar. Very nice.
