I'll be suprised if the Scout is only 6 months after the launch of the MkIII.

The MkII hit the UK shores in 2004, the Scout didn't arrive until three years later in 2007, whereas the vRS was only two years behind.

Maybe the MkII Scout was a late addition, and the MkIII has been planned from the outset which may see it arrive quicker?

Yeah but there wasn't ever a MK I Scout, so this was a new model in the range. Now it's established. I'm only going on what I read in Auto Express recently though.

IMO the scout is now too important a model to not release as soon as the estate etc are out. Even the current over 1 year gap is a big problem for those wanting cars of different spec to dealer stock.

Yes they have the Superb Outdoor to fill the gap, but it needs the suspension lift and underbody protection (both mainland options apparently) to be a real alternative.

It may sound stupid, but if I was hanging out for a 4x4 i'd be tempted to wait for a Skoda Snowman when it comes out (if it's size doesn't make it ridiculously expensive!). Think it looks great.

Difficult to make that decision until the car is actually available though - theres so many renderings and photoshopped images around no one knows for sure and it will command a price premium of course. The idea is great though.

I think the boot space is the main deciding factor between the Scout and Yeti from most members that have weighed them both up for purchase. :)

Well we WAS just sorted...........but just been looking at the new "snowman"

think I will wait just that bit longer to see proper picks or even better the real thing

I think if the Scout had come with Leather, 4x4 and the CR170 then VAG group would have a large problem on their hands.....so many of us Octavia owners opted for the Yeti. One thing about the Yeti to me that is very suprising is its ability to be thrown about corners.....boot space is small. But as a "go anywhere" car it is superb. I am hoping the new Oct III Scout comes with leather, and an equivalent CR170 engine.
