If I need a new turbo....

Featured Replies

Hi all. My car broke this morning and its looking like the turbo. If this is the case what else would need changing/replacing as a precaution along with the turbo? Also where is best for a replacement unit? Thanks

Sorry I have a mk1 vrs 2004.

With a turbo swap, you're best replacing Exhaust downpipe, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold gaskets (all needed to come off to replace turbo) then its advised a new oil feed and oil return pipe is also changed so to guarantee no blocks in the lines.

As it happens, i have a 60k standard turbo that i removed last month to go Hybrid in great condition - Drop me a line if its of any use. (I'm in Swindon)

So... is this too big?

If it is the turbo what are the chances it has damaged the engine? I'm hoping the warranty will cover it but if I have to sort it I'll bear you in mind nosmokenopoke. You are close too :)
