Featured Replies

hi can some 1 help please.. i was driving home from work on wedensday and my car juddered all of a sudden then just died.. it turned over fine but just would not fire up.. fule was getting to all the injectors and the pump seems to be working fine.. the next day i changed the fule filter and tryed to start the car after 5 turns it started .... i turned it back of and on a few time and it started fine every time so i left it ticking over for 5 mins and it just cut out and now i have the same problem again it wont start.. i have taken the float out the tank and cleaned the gause as it has a little sludge on it.. when the car was running after i changed the filter the glow plug light was flashing on and off on the dash this never used to happen.. also the wiper fuse keeps blowing not sure if this has any thing to do with the problem .. any help would be much appreciated as i am stumped..

Hello mate. I had similar problems to you last year it turned out to be the ECU. (cost £150 to fix in the end).

What happend with mine is it would cut out. Then would turn over but not start. Then after leaving it for a few mins it would start again.

Try tugging on the ECU in the engine bay while the car is running if your symtoms are the same as mine the car should cut out when you do this.

My wiper fuse has been blowing recently too because my screen wash froze. When i tryed to use the screen wash the wiper fuse would blow.

Cheers,

Carl

hi cheers for the reply.. the car will not start at all now no matter how long i leave it .. is there any way of testing the ecu ? i thought it could be air the fule lines somehow .. its strange how it started when the filter was changed but after 5 mins running it just wont start again back to square1

Back to square one it seems! it was a long shot to be fair but sounds very similar to what happend to me. I was increadibly unlucky for my ECU to mess up. Get it on a fault code reader is probably the best thing you can do.
