Silly question about aircon

Featured Replies

How can you tell if the aircon is working i know it goes cold but in this weather. The light comes on but the engine reves do not alter and the fan on the radiator is not on. Been like this since new

I know if mine is on as AC is displayed on the climate unit lol. Also demists the screen pronto with Aircon activated

When ambient temperature is below ca. 6 degrees Centigrade the a/c compressor is not activated even if the a/c buttton is illuminated. And this is because the a/c unit (no matter if the unit is a plain a/c, or climatic, or climatronic) is not inverter. There is a chance to activate the a/c compressor below 6 degrees if you activate the front windshield demist function.

It is absolutely normal and that's why does it since day one.

The reason y i asked is i have it on demist and it takes ages. It takes that long the heater does it

Have you got the temp knob turned down to cold and fan on ?.

Hi new compressor needed something blown? under warranty

May I ask for a favour please? Can you ask them how much is the cost of a new compresor if the car is out of warranty? When I got mine replaced under warranty I was told about 1.300 euros.

Is there any chance of posting the compressor's part number?

Hope you get it sorted first time; a previous Corsa of ours destroyed 7 or was it 8 A/C compressors in three years. Thankfully all under warranty but I couldn't understand why they just replaced the compressor without finding out why or what caused it to fail and keep failing :wonder:

Got fed up with it in the end plus the warranty ran out, so we switched back to a Fabia. Although that wasn't completely faultless either but the first year passed without issue at least :giggle:
