3 Years Free Servicing Deal

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I thought I read on Skoda's website that 4x4 models of the Yeti are excluded from the 3 years free servicing when applying for HP or solutions finance?

Every dealer I've spoken to, however, seem to disagree and they say that both HP and PCP deals for 3 years free servicing DO apply to the 4x4 models?

Has Skoda changed their policy recently or which one is right?

It was not available for 4x4 in October 2012 otherwise I would have gone for it and paid it off the next day. I was told it was legitimate if a little cheeky.

But money in my pocket is better than theirs. :hi:

My March 12 170 4X4 came with free servicing, bought using a Skoda PCP.

This is the thing. At some point last year, Skoda revoked the 4x4 versions from the deal but at the moment there's no mention on Skoda's website about this exclusion, only Octavia Connect models.

I didn't specifically ask my local dealer if the 4x4 is included in the offer but he's worked out a PCP plan that he says includes 3 years servicing. The only reason he's working on PCP is for this offer, otherwise it's not worth my while.

At the same time he tells me that I have to make minimum 6 months payments before it could be settled but I'm sure it can be paid off sooner. I'll leave the whys and what nots for another thread though I think, just need a clear answer for this thread first.

i noticed this too!!! i'm about to sign a new pcp deal in the next few weeks...

Skoda review their offers every 3 months, so what was on offer end 2012 may not be available now and vice versa, but your dealer should know what the current offers are. I wouldn't be surprised if they are puting restrictions on how many payments you have to make prior to settlement as loads of us in the summer quarter july- september took out te finance, had the £500 contribution and free servicing, then paid it off virtually straight away (I waited fro the service plan to comre through 1st) This must of cost Skoda Finance a fortune at circa £1k a car with most paying less than £100 in settlement fees.

Have you seen this on Skoda's website? the only model excluded is the Octy connect....so Yeti's are...

If its like the VW deal you have to make the first payment before cancelling.

My dealer told me exactly that. Take out PCP, pay first monthly payment then clear the lot = 3 years servicing. Costs approx £200 in fees & interest but still cheaper than service plan.

I did the same as others here, and paid off early but only because I sold my VW privately after a year on a 3 year PCP, and I am sure that there was a £60 final payment fee as well as the initial £125 acceptance fee. That vehicle was on variable mileage servicing, and I worked out that because I had only done 7500 miles in a year, the first service would have be due at 2 years (interval was 2 yrs/20k miles - whichever came 1st), so I would only be entitled to 1 free service within the 3 years. The next/2nd service would not be until year 4 and therefore outside the 3 year free service deal I had.

Have I got this correct?

If so, paying off a PCP early, to get the free servicing, could be a false economy for low mileage owners, when you consider the initial £125 acceptance fee, the first monthly payment (interest part only) and the £60 final payment fee (total £200-£250?). A first service is only around the £130 mark (oldstan posted he paid £61.48 excluding oil), and would not have to be paid for until month 24.

BTW, I have got free servicing on my current Yeti (on PCP), and am not even sure if the Yeti has the variable servicing option or whether a service has to be done every year, in which case, yes, clearing a PCP early would be sensible.

I'm sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong, to have the service plan the car must be set on fixed servicing schedule.
