Thinking about painting the Skoda!

Featured Replies

At the moment I drive a Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI which is white and we all know how hard it is to keep a white car clean!

I've been thinking about spraying the Skoda, Unsure yet of what colour but I have a few ideas up my sleeve!

If you want to keep it clean then........Dont paint it black!

Haha!

I shall keep that in mind..... I want something different :)

Hi,

Try posting a picture of your car in here... and suggest a few colours you're interested in, then hopefully someone will be able to photoshop it so you can see what it looks like. :)

John

Are you spraying it or is someone else doing it for you,

cutting in and doing the door jambs, sills, rear hatch jambs etc?

Would getting it Wrapped not be a better option unless you are getting a very good job done at a very good price & keeping the car.

I would go Silver for easy care, once polished waxed and prepared, 'Wash & Go',

Much like a Wrap, 'Easy Care'.

Or get the White, Polished & Waxed well and wash now and again as required,

not that hard to keep Clean or looking clean. IMO

13 years old now from a time before white became the new black,

kept waxed and easy to wash. Dead midges & flies on the front is the PITA.

I'll will try and post a picture of my wee Skoda! Well i will be getting someone to do the job for me but i would need to make sure there work is good as it will be an all over job!

I was thinking about getting it wrapped but was unsure but if i didn't like i could change it i guess.... I am keeping the car as it will be a long time away for i start thinking about a different car as I do love my Fabia :)

My old man said that to me "White is the new black" haha but white is hard to keep clean but i'm sure it's the same with any colour but there's a few things i want to do to the car before getting it painted, one job at a time!

Brown  colour of mud.

Then you wouldn't even notice if it was dirty....genius!

mud/salt dries white (or at least to a light brown).

There are pro's and con's for lots of colours

Black shows the dirt but not the tar spots

White show the tar spots and some of the dirt

Silver/light grey show tar spots but masks a lot of the dirt

brown/gold hides most of the **** but looks like ****.

darn swear filter - does it allow cr@p or jobbies??

'Sharn', the Filter allows Sharn.

The colour from the 70's of BL cars like the Allegro or Wedge.

Often now you get Renault Scenics or Mercedes in a shades of Sharn Matallic.

I once had a Peugout 504 in a light shade of Champagne / Sharn it looked really sharn.

Maybe some younger members need to google to know what this colour looks like.

It is like something you need to get of your boots after being in the countryside.

That's the thing with any other colours you will have the same issue with keeping it clean, I hate how on white cars it shows the tar spots as I do alot of motorway driving so you can image how dirty my car is! Today's misson is to clean my car!

The term "Sharn"I understand.... I like the way you have used that word! Well my last car was a Nissan Micra, great starter car but ony had it for six months then moved onto my Skoda but the Micra was bright blue.

White is the new black now these day's and when I was looking for a new car I also told myself I'd never get a white car and now I have one......
