Wide mouth bumper. A rough guide.

Featured Replies

Why not buy a clip-in style plate surround with multifitment mounting points on the back and then cable tie it to the mesh?

  • Great post by the OP. Wether or not to keep the crash bar is a personal opinion. I didn't. Let's not drag down a great "How to" thread, as there was no mention of the crash bar in post 1.

  • It will allow more air to a front mount inter cooler. Looks a bit daft if you don't have an Fmic though

  • Yeah they're not the cheapest. But do look good

That would kind of defeat the object of wide mouthing it lol

I understand the airflow will be affected but it will surely be an improvement compared to standard and at least you're staying legal that way. I do like my pressed plate on the front :)

Re the number plate issue, I had to chuckle;

The plate size itself doesn't really come into it, it's the colour of the letters / numbers and background, and the size / font of said digits that matters.

Used to get people forcing the issue with me, I always obliged them with either a FPN or a day in court.....

Isi legal to buy sticky number plate for the side of the bumper ?

Any idea for the top bonnet grill to be done, a guide on here maybe?

Seen this and want to do it on my SE.

I might just honeycomb the bottom of the grill without making it wide mouth also?

I've made one like Charlie's at work. Took a few pictures of the process. I haven't finished it yet. Just need to attach the mesh.

Process is cut slates, sand down, filler, sand, prime, sand, spray. Takes longer than you think.

Ah I don't like the sound of that, any picture guides? Lol.

I think the wide mouth bumper looks great. Totally transforms the look of the vehicle

Why can't I see any of the pictures?

Because photobucket have decided that to third party host people will have to pay something ridiculous like £100 a year. They have essentially ruined many many guides and build threads.
