Phone mounting

Featured Replies

I'm looking at mounting a charging base for my phone and wondered if anyone has an alternative to the following to

Brodit 654737-4 plastic and mounts just under the radio

or

Metal bracket that sits on the left hand side of the centre console. which clips in under the radio/controls facia?

My phone kits have always used either Brodit brackets or Dashmount ones - both have worked great for me in the past. Currently have a Dashmount one in the Superb.

Thanks for the advice.

I use the THB Bury cc9060 phone kit with the system 9 cradles in my Ocky and want to use the same system 9 cradle in my Missus Citigo (when we get it in March) via the PID but don't know if it is to easy to remove the cradle assy with the plastic bracket below the console or too intrusive on the side of the radio?

Has anyone used the Skoda equivalent of the CC9060? if so do they have the wiring diagram they could send me so I could wire the cradle through the fuse box (when i find where it is)?

Has anyone purchase the Brodit mount? Seems a bit low down to me.

Is there not a phone cradle that attaches onto the PID clip? That would be so handy. Due to the slope of the screen and distance it is from the dashboard I can't mount it there beucase it'd be far too far away. So yeah, something that mounts onto the PID clip like the PID does would be awesome.

No idea about the PID clip. I've used Brodit pro clips and mounts for a number of years. Very robust and car specific.

I just do this for ipod or phone charging, simple and no expensive mounts.

I have an S5 as of yesterday which doesn't fit in that gap, but thanks MickA! Jonny5ive (awesome name by the way) I've seen loads of clips but it'd make sense for there to be one that attached to the PID mounting clip. It's such a solid connection and it would be fantastic if there was one! Or if not, does anyone have a broken PID I can salvage and steal the back panel of? That way I can make my own ;)

Have you looked on Ebay?

I'm waiting for the garage to get back to me first, that's a good shout though, thanks :)

I have this mount - works for any phone and best of all sticks to the Citigo dash as it has an adhesive sucker. It swivels to hold the phone in portrait and is also available in black:

I've got the Brodit mount in mine and find it pretty ideal actually. I've got a large phone (Nexus 5) so it slightly blocks the radio controls but that's no real issue. Plus was very simple to wire into the fuse box!

Here is my solution from Brodit:

I like it.

I have one of these, I bought it from TK Maxx for 9.99! The company is Urban Beatz (poor name, but good product).

Charges two devices at once, sits straight up from the Citigo's 12V charger spot, and clamps to the phone gently to hold it in place. Useful as you can charge your phone and have it mounted at the same time. Especially useful for things like bluetooth being activated, to reduce the loss of battery power.
