Black/silver badges

Featured Replies

I've got a Citigo front bonnet badge and matching wheel centre caps, but can't find a rear door badge.

My existing rear badge is showing signs of aluminium corrosion and I'm looking to replace, but the newer models at my local dealer all seem to have Citigo size badges front and rear.

I seem to recall there is a guy who can source resin badges - anyone know who he is?

Do you really want a different one? SUK are replacing the badges under warantee.

Fred

I assume he wants the new type as he has replaced all the others with these, and Skoda are only replacing the corroded ones with the current style. Hope that is correct Yety?

Fred - my comment was directed to Yety "hope that is correct Yety?" - as in I hope that it is what you (Yety) were thinking in your OP.

Yes :giggle:

Glad we cleared that up then.

PS. I have done the same as you. Just the rear and s/wheel badges to sort now.

A little bit of sun today, so got the new rear badge on. It came last week, but been a bit wet and cold for sticky things :giggle:

The old badge popped off easily, made in Spain in Oct 2011 for my very, very early 2012 car.

The new badge is very sticky - one false move and .............. (which is why I got two)

Well done these look great, where did you get them from?

That new badge looks great. I like the fact that it appears flat and not rounded like the original. I want one. Where from please?

Too late now - see post 8 above. I'm sure he'll do some more if enquiries mount up.

The graphic is not 100% perfect, sort of a low quality image manipulated to fit.

However, the urethane gel is thick and glossy, very bendy and resilient to scratches, the glue is - well, very gluey :giggle:

Any impression given of a "poor" quality badge is unfair as it looks the part, is flat rather than domed, and complements the rest of the silver/black badges on the car.

I'm not normally a fan of bling, but this really suits the car in this sort of colour.

Damn. No chance of selling me your spare badge is there? I did PM Pastyboy but so far no reply...shame.

Try Pastyboy again - he has been very helpful in replying to me with details/costs etc. of these badges.

He took a little while to reply to me but had explained in his group buy post that he would take a while resolving that. Since been in efficient and helpful contact and has followed up estimating delivery.

Just heard from Pastyboy, but he only has 1 spare retro design rear badge (black/silver with the original Skoda word/laurel leaves). I am hoping he can do me a couple of the new style rear badges and maybe a steering wheel centre.

Any other fellow Yeti owners fancy a Group Buy for the the style rear badge, to make it worth his while?

See my thread - "New style rear Skoda badge for Yeti"

Depends how much he is charging, but possibly.

£15 for rear.

JCP - what did you order?

Front, rear and 4 wheel centres-retro in black/silver.

Thanks. Just ordered rear and steering wheel centre (retro) - £21 for both.

Just as a post script, I've noticed another thread about badge quality, so thought I'd add my 2p's worth.

A lot of badges have been made over the last few years in pressed aluminium, and then anodised using dyes. The corrosion is mostly from the bare edges and becomes visible as alumium oxide, white stuff. Also, the dyes used fade over time. This sort of badge is cheap to make and has been commonly used.

However, I've noticed recently a switch away from pressed aluminium badges to plastic badges with vacuum deposited metallic shiney bits which are more long lasting. Have you noticed how many new cars have black/silver badges - mostly plastic?

My MG suffered the same sort of problem until I commissioned a run of urethane gel badges which have stood the test of time in all weathers.

Basically the Yeti badges are currently c**p, but new Skoda vehicles seem to be joining the trend to plastic badges, so replacement of the existing badge is really a waste of time.

Just my opinion.

Just got my current rear badge replaced yesterday with what appears to be an identical badge. Warranty expires today and I am not holding my breath over the life of the new one. :0)

Just fitted new Annapurnas with new Nokian WR3 winter tyres

Two of the 4 came with the ordinary badges on the centre caps and two with the-for me desirable new style badges, some possibility then of my L&k coming with new style badges.
