Eibach springs!

Featured Replies

So due to cold my front ns spring has snapped oh joy! I've been looking at the options re cheap coilovers or good springs,

Having done done research I've found eibach sport line are very well liked, 30mm drop and the springs are progressive so I've decided to give them a go and at £160 seem good value

Ill let you know how it turns out

Please do. This is exactly the sort of route I want to go down. Along with uprated shocks. Hopefully they do Estate versions...

They def do estate versions

I used LK tuning on eBay and they had estate versions listed (very helpful)

Basically I can't afford good coilovers (new baby) and it give me scope to do shocks later on

I didnt think that eibach did a spring set for the VRS?

Will be good to hear what the ride is like after tho!

yes i think the eibach springs are not recommended for the vrs for some reason...need to have a search, someone will know

yes they don't list a vrs spring iirc, they aren't rated properly, unless the op has found eibach now do a spring for the vrs

According to this catalogue, they do springs for the Mk1 Octavia Hatch and Estate:

Edit: I should check my own link before i post.

Having just looked at the link, they don't actually mention springs, just Pro-Spacers.

I WAS TOLD NOT VRS SO I USE H AND R SPRINGS :) AWESOME :)

Research was not that good then buddy, as these are crud for VRS....... certainly for the MK1 VRS and if they even do these for the MK VRS.

Do not be fooled if they just state MK 1 Octavia that they will be ok as totally different spring rate and poundage for the VRS.

Think OET has posted a link on this.

i have been there and got rid, absolute ****e ride..... then I was told by a good tuner sorry not for your car..

H&R are the best and potentially only good option that really work on the MK1 VRS other than coilovers

the h and r ride so nice like oe till you throw it in a corner especially with the eibach bar set up :)

You still on standard shocks?

Personally, I was hoping for something that was a nicer ride than OEM, until you start throwing it about. ;)

But if that's the way it's got to be, so be it. But then I do plan to upgrade the crappy shocks at the same time.

Hmmm, which way do I go... B6? B8? Koni Sports? Gah! Hate that they don't do FSD's for RS Estates.

have you looked upt he weight differences between the hatch and the estate?

by oe i mean its stiffer but not harsh and koni sports be the future for moi i think mates have all had bad issue with the fsd things

These do state on the box octavia 1u rs 1.8t?!?

They are the pro sport springs as I know some of the older types aren't rated well!

I've been in a Leon running these springs and was pleasantly suprised ( I know it's a different car)

Having spoken to a VAG and BMW specialist near me I was advised not to use H&R as the progressive spring that eibach do will be better for road use?!?

Either way that's what I've got and ill let you know how it works out?

I USE MINE DAILY DUDE AND LOVE IT

yeah they are magic mike from awesome sortedme out my set

Think they're different lengths. I'm pretty certain there is some significant difference between the estate and hatch versions other than loading...

Sent from my Galaxy S3.

The VAG and BMW garage talking b******s as H&R are excellent for road use and I have had them to know they work well and make car very sure footed.

Let us know how you get on with your springs as it could be an improved design now and all is well and you will be happy.

It was over 4 years ago when I had the Eibach fitted.

Eibach springs fitted!!!!

Got to say well chuffed the general ride is spot on and it seems to handle bumps better around town

When you get a trot on the body roll is greatly reduced to the point where the traction controll is far less invasive even in wet!

Even if these aren't officially listed for the vrs they work bloody well, and I would say they are a good budget option IMO

So springs only?
