Rear door handle won't open - Unless Hercules pulls it !

Featured Replies

Its the drivers side rear door, when trying to pull the handle the door just will not open, you have to really pull it to get it open, the other side is fine.... anybody had this issue.

From the inside or out?

If the outside its a very simple two minute fix. Most garages would fix this straight away.

what would they do to fix it?

If you pull the handle out and look at the gap between the handle and where the lock barrel would be you will see lots of black notches and then further down a clip in it. The clip will just need pulling out a few notches.

you mean the Bowden cable? The cable that goes from lock to handle?

You could loosen it but I don't think you could tighten it. Loosening it to much would risk dead locking IMO.

Yep pulling it from the outside...... i have put some ACF-50 in it this morning and it has made it a bit easier but not like the other 3 doors..... so is it really easy to do ?

It's fairly easy todo just don't go to far, I will get a pic in a bit to explain.

I've done it quite a few times now, if you can find a guide to remove the handles it will explain now.

Tools needed are a flat driver, pointy pliers and a torx bit.

That would be most useful, thanks.
