Just spoke to a lad regarding tuning....

Featured Replies

And he said that he could get the following out my VRS. Phwoar!

Power (Bhp) 130 to 193

Torque (lbft) 228 to 309

Anyone any idea about how this would affect mpg?

Does he work for Celtic tuning? That's what they quoted for my car and was the map I had for a while. Standard turbo isn't designed for that power. Mpg was pretty good while cruising on motorways etc

1) - You won't get that level of increase. ;) 170 tops in reality

2) - MPG is largely unaffected by diesel tuning, Mine still does 50mpg.

Not sure who he works for mate. Got put in touch with him through a mutual pal. Changing turbo etc sounds like a monumental pain in the backside.

Over 300 lb lbs of torque will require you to change the flywheel before long.

Lol! I was just about to mention Celtic Tuning, heard nothing but bad things about them, they did my Focus which I wasnt to happy with either.

Haha as said previously 170 is more realistic... Never mind safer for turbo etc lol

Where are Celtic tuning based???

They are based mainly in Cornwall, but have dealers around the country. I gather there is one in Clydebank, going on google.

Aye. It is them.....

It's not the first time I've laughed at their 'figures'

Always seem way OTT for the limits if the cars they map

I'm sure some people must be happy with them :/

Ill give it a miss i think.

Agree. You will need to request some serious boost for it to flow enough air to hit 190bhp.

I would avoid them mate. It's nice that they come to you, but that's about it

Turbo/flywheel/clutch will wear down too quick with them figures. 'If' they could get that from a standard pd130.

Opted for the tuning box in the meantime. Cheers for the info guys. Much appreciated!

Celtic tuning are full of ****

Blacksmoke - either buy/upload map yourself or swap ECU if they have a map applicable for your engine. Cheaper or cheap as a tuning box depending which route you go down.
