Featured Replies

Noticed this hanging loosely behind my Columbus when taking it out earlier to disconnect the aux wires. Anyone know what it is please?

It looks like one of the temperature sensors that feeds information to the Climatronic.

The clip that holds it in place is poor so they are quite prone to dropping down behind the headunit.

Thanks mate. Makes sense, where should it sit??

I'm not 100% sure but I think it locates somewhere inside/behind the central air vents.

I'll have a search as it has been discussed on here before...

Yep me too, worth every penny of the membership to keep it going.

Yeh make sure you put it back lol and dont leave it hanging like me winter time was chucking out luke warm air... until i found out why... lol.

Yes makes sense, thanks Mike.

Once you have put the sensor back where it should be, put a ring of silicon sealer around the base of the sensor. It won't harm the sensor in any way, it will stop the sensors falling out again, and being on plastic is easy to remove if you ever NEED to replace on one of them. As Grizzle says, if a sensor is out of place, the climatronic won't be able to work properly, and the silicon trick is an easy bit of preventive medicine without having to take the radio head unit out again.

Can you get to it by popping out the fliptop cubby hole above?? If you can, that's easy to do and tempted to check to see if mine have fallen down if it affects climatronic.

I think so will confirm later

Edit: it can be done just by removing top box

Handy. ;)
