Dead Dash

Featured Replies

The dash on our Octavia has just "died". My brother who is using it at the moment reports that all the instruments just stopped, he saw a brief flicker but now nothing.

Sounds like something has come unplugged so can anyone suggest where to look, rather than me just poke around.

Ideas please?

Car is a 1999 1.9 SXI

I'd look at the fuse first then look at the plugs on the back of the clocks.

If the worst comes to the worst, you can get your own dash repaired rather than replace/recode.

I asked my dealer (white dove cardiff) if i was to get a second hand clocks would they recode it and said yes after a bit of pursuading, 1/2h labour on the gismo to recode it :sun:

Had a similar problem on the 2005 Octavia II TDI. In my case it was wintertime humidity and it fixed itself after several weeks.
