JOM Blueline Coilovers?

Featured Replies

Anyone tried these?

i'm looking at these too...

If you haven't had high price/quality ones before you will love them. I have em and they do an outstanding job considering the price.

Don't go tooooo low and they are quite comfy aswell. Mine have done 20k so far and haven't changed much, a little softer, but still performing well

Obviously spend 500 and you will get better, but I think they are spot on ride v's price

I raised my rears up as much as they will go and the fronts up to match the rears (car leveling/height was level), there's a lot more adjustment in the fronts.

The reason I raised them was it was too low, the car would catch on things like speed bumps etc and on full lock plus it was far too bouncy, now it's still aesthetically pleasing and the ride is better and doesnt suffer any of the above.

I smashed a sump on a raised drain cover in a garage a month or so back and in all honesty it was 'far' from stupid low - make what you will of that.

They can be easily bettered as far as handling and ride with more expensive coil overs, but not for the price and what they have to offer.

People don't realise they are not true coilovers in a sense that the damper rate is none adjustable they are just height adjustable, and the two are linked, raising them brought them more into their best rebound/refresh rate but at the same produced a less harsh ride due to there not being as rigid tight and soaking up bumps a little, bit of a compromise though and not quite as cut and dry as that.

For the price I'd recommend them if they last remains to be seen, i would definitely copper grease the threads!

I have them bouncy as hell but i have adjusters and helper springs out as low as it gos but i love em

As they say 'you get what you pay for?' If you can save and get some AP's, wietecs or v1's. Had Joms on my old car thought they where crap, too stiff and bouncy!

I understand you get what you pay for but I can't justify spending £800 on a suspension set up. I won't be taking my car on track and I won't be chavving it around the streets (not saying people who do spend £800 are Chavs btw)

Just want a little lowering for Aestethics. I just thought for sub £200 they might be better than just getting springs and using standard shocks?

I'm only looking for 30/35mm drop. Just to lose a bit of arch gap.

I also want to add to that, that I use my car everyday and frequently go down roads with speed bumps. I have two kids in the car most of the time (except my work run)

I also have adults in the back from time to time when giving lifts to family and friends, so I can't have it slammed.

I'm currently running some proper poverty spec coilovers, and I live in the middle of nowhere so the roads aren't exactly smooth.

If it's just a tasteful drop you're looking for then you should have no issues with the set you've queried :)

A set of AP's are £420, which to be honest really isn't too bad seeing as a set of 4 new tyres would cost you more than that.

I have to say I would never scimp on suspension again, bear in mind your comfort and how long a cheap set will last? I have heard story of leaking dampers after only a few k miles.

New tyres are £130 a pair, so £260 for 4. That for uniroyal rainsport 2 btw. So it's quite a lot different really.

As I said, I'm not looking to go real low just enough to close the arch gap so it looks better.

Thanks for your input though.

I had them on mine, they were ok for the price, made the car look a lot better, but they were very bouncy

the bouncies are for those who went too low, anywhere from half way down and higher will be pretty good. most are 35-80mm drop so a 55mm drop up to 35mm should be acceptable.

Didn't make any difference on mine, the dampers wernt adjustable so there was no control over that.
