VRS engine mounts

Featured Replies

Just returning home in the VRS, pulled onto a roundabout just down the road from where Iive and there was an almighty thud. Felt and sounded like I had hit something very hard (although I hadn't), then a massive whining noise.

First reaction was to turn the ignition off, to try and stop any further damage, but then realised I was holding up a busy roundabout, so started it again and pulled off to the side of the road.

Had the father in law look at it (as he is a mechanic by trade) and it looks like the bolts holding the engine mounts in place have either come out, or sheared off. The engine is leaning to one side!!

Anyone ever heard of this happening before? I didn't feel or see any warning signs before it happened. Seeing as it started I am hoping I have saved the engine!

Does the petrol vrs need the engine mount dropped to change the cambelt or has any work been done to the car recently
