blackvue mounting position in a fabia

Featured Replies

So where have you mounted the front camera? Behind the rear view mirror, to the side or above it?

Pics would be good please.

Behind so you cannot see any of it when driving. :) (The LEDs are potentially distracting) I mocked mine up using some tape before finding and marking the spot I wanted it and sticking on properly. :)

I thought this too but im getting an annoying reflection of the vents in the windscreen!

Behind the mirror. Also get a bit of reflection, but youll struggle to get rid of that (unless remanufacture the front of the car to change the angle of the window :D)

Yeah behind the mirror on the R as you look form the drivers seat. As said you are unlikely to be able to hide the LED's from view completely -you can change the colour though. I've got used to cyan now.

I completely forgot to take a decent picture over the weekend for you but i'll grab a picture tonight.

If you zoom in on the windscreen in this picture, the silver bit in front of the rear view mirror, you can just about see where i've positioned mine.

You can also see the camera in this shot as well:

I've positioned it so the camera lens is about level with the middle of the rear view mirror.

I'll get some better, close up pictures later though.

You've also just missed x2 Group Buys on here that would have gotten you the cameras at a cheaper price.

Nothing can really be done about the reflection, but it doesn't detract (in my experience) from what the camera is there to do, and potentially catch on camera.

I don't really notice the reflection in my videos. I angle the camera so the 'Blackvue' lettering on the side is as straight as possible.

Hope these help a little.

Cheers John, ive faffed with it again this evening and have it in a similar place as yours now. I wanted it so it was as discrete as possible, which it is now!

I've left mine with the blue LED glow on the side and its quite amusing at night with that and Xenons how many people think you are a police car. :D

Glad you've got it in a place you're happy with now.

Same here, though even without Xenons you tend to get a few cars slowing down when you catch up to them. :D
