Faulty switch or more?

Featured Replies

Iv had the anti hijack turned on on my 2006 vrs and now I've noticed a problem, at 10mph the doors lock like the should and then unlock when the key is removed, but if I want to unlock the doors with the switch down by the hand break its seems very temperamental, sometimes you have to hold it down for 5-10 seconds before it unlocks, I'm assuming this isnt right?

Will this just be a faulty switch?

I've always found that switch to be temperamental on mine as well although I've not seen any fixes here for improving it, I'd be pleased if there was some simple fix I've missed.

Same as mine but I'd have thought this is a safety feature that you have to press & hold the button for a couple of seconds as to avoid an accidental press & unlock of the car.

Weird, mine unlocks the instant I press the button.

It would annoy me if I had to press it twice or hold it down, as I often open the doors to let passengers out so that they don't try and rip the handle off before they realise it requires a double pull :giggle:

LOL! That annoys the hell out of me when people try & open the door before I've removed the key or pressed the button! No matter how many times I tell the old lady she still does it when I take her shopping! Thankfully the mrs has learnt now!

It needs a new switch fitted mine got so bad that I had to press it hard until one day I pressed it out into the console! Great cars!

Mine does too. Could be a faulty switch the OP has?
