Amundsen+ Radio Problem

Featured Replies

Hi All,

First post on this forum, hoping someone can provide some help.

I've just bought a new Superb Greenline and have to say I'm really happy with it. It came with a "free upgrade" Amundsen+ sat nav which really is pretty good but every so often (at least once per journey) the radio station that I'm listening to gets interference lasting about 1 second (only way to describe it is its like a taxi radio cutting in). Unusual I know but before I go back to the dealership has anyone else experience this?

Thanks.

I haven't experienced it on an Amundsen, but the Dance unit on my Roomster does it. On that it's RDS traffic information, it goes off to check if the traffic announcemnet is there and mutes while it does it. I've not know other radios do it, they are almost inaudible, but if I switch off announcments in the roomy, it stops doing it.

Could well be a pirate radio station.

Where are you located?

Thanks for the responses.

Lowedb, was thinking it could be that alright, need to figure out how to turn it off, will look at that tonight.

Gadgetman, I don't think it's a pirate station cutting in, located in Dublin, Ireland.

Did it twice tonight on the way home, very annoying.

If the display is showing TP, then its the traffic function. To disable press and hold the traffic button or TP button until it disappears.

Are you on dab? If so do you get a crossed out aerial symbol top left of the screen? Is it always in the same location?

DAB not included on Irish version (at least not that I can find), which is a shame as we do have a limited number of DAB broadcasts here. Only bands available are FM and AM. What I noticed is that the station that I usually listen to (which was auto-tuned) was .1mhz out of sync (should have been 106, was tuned to 106.1) and had no issues with station dropping off on the way home tonight (in between phone calls). I'm hoping this was the solution.
