Xenon controller

Featured Replies

Is the xenon controller attached to the headlamp on a pre fl? And does the drive CANBUS connect to it?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Adam

Hi Adam

By controller do you mean the xenon ballast or the unit which controls the Adaptive Front lighting System (bendy lights)?

I can have a look at the wiring diagram when I get 5

Thanks, its the latter pls

If it is the AFS, it is placed behind the Dash, back of the Center AC Vents.

I didn't think that pre-facelift had AFS

FL has a seperate module that is a slave to the Xenon Controller (address 55) which is connected to the CAN system

FL has the AFS2 with advanced features like Cornering Lights, Bending of lights based on Speed etc. IIRC, what the pre-FL has the simpler version with just the bending functionality depending on the load of the Car, still called AFS.

Ok thanks, was wondering if that was an easy place to connect to the drive CAN, will look for it on the weekend and check wire colours.

the FLs (on the vRS) we get here in aus only has AFS1, not AFS2. so we only get bending/dynamic xenon.

other places get afs2 as standard, or as an option.

btw - cornering lights is not AFS related.
