VRS switching between DRL and headlights

Featured Replies

Hi,

on VRS Octavia 2012 I have installed DRL LED lights, which are working on "0" position of headlight switch (example: http://orientalparts...2-P2200860.aspx).

If you want to switch on headlights you have to mannually switch them on (to third position).

It is very dangerous when you are driving in the sunlight with DRL's on, and you are comming inside tunnel. Then you have to switch mannually headlights on, and of course many times you forget to do this.

I am thinking of replacing standard switch, with such, that have also AUTO function, and after that I have to connect also light sensor on it. I found on the market only one such product (http://www.aliexpres.../670586831.html), but I don't know if this will work.

Does anybody have any experiencies with this switch? Or it is there any other solution?

The light sensor is aparently a pig of a retro fit. I wouldnd atempt it. Basicly most of the interior needs takibg out.

Is it really very dangerous? I drive through the Wallasey tunnel everyday with just DRL's on (during daytime), and most motorists have no lights on. Have no issues with seeing other vehicles. The tunnel is illuminated though, but I would expect most would be.

Problem is, that you don't have any lights switched on in the rear of the vehicle.

Neither do most of vehicles in the tunnel I use. As the tunnel is illuminated I have no problem seeing, doubt others do. If it wasn't illuminated I'd put my lights on. Point I was making is that I doubt it's very dangerous, if even slightly dangerous - no more so than someone forgetting to put sidelights on at dusk.

i find myself that if lights are left in auto position, the headlights come on and off as it gets dark or gets bright!!

i havent had any problems myself!
