Mfd service due

Featured Replies

Hi

Stupid question but thought I would ask. How do I see how long till the next service on the maxidot/multi function display?

Thanks

I thought it would just be a case of cycling through the menus?

Mines just the standard display.

I turn the button that adjusts the clock one click to the left.

Thought the same

Got something called 'car status' and assumed it would be there? But is not

It was serviced about 600 miles a go so maybe it has not been worked out yet?

At the bottom of the first menu there is an option called 'service' and if you click it you have the options of info or reset. Info gives you the miles and days til next service.

When it gets close (can't remember what point - maybe 50 days or 600 miles) it tells you every time you turn the ignition on

Will have to check that as I have do not seem that option at all? Am sure I would have noticed it?

It is 2006 model so not sure if that makes a difference

Does it make a difference if the ignition is on or off to see these options.

Cheers

It's not possible on a 2006 car. Maxidot functionality was expanded in later years to allow you to do this and other things.......like activate anti hijack etc.

Unfortunately the only way to see time/mileage to next service on your car is to plug in VCDS.

Hm I'd try the button that adjusts the clock!

Maybe try a google search for the manual?

it is possible.

I forget how it was done but when i reset mine i checked it to see how long etc till the next service. I think its something like twisting the trip reset button

Thanks will try it and report back

Cheers guys

It's not possible in the Maxidot menu on a 2006 car, but I just did a search and found out you can do it.

You switch on the ignition while holding the trip reset button for over 2 seconds, the display then gives time and distance to service for 10 seconds before reverting back to normal. I always use VCDS for my service resets, so have never tried it.

It will take a while before the new data will be displayed. Dont remember how many miles or days, but it will come on after a while.
