What state is the Battery in?

so its been to a main stealer, before i had a look at it, and they started just replacing sensors willy nilly, and ran up a bill of £740. it still has the abs sensor faults, even though the stealer replaced the two rear ones, and the pas doesnt work, even though they replaced the angle sensor.

A lot of those faults look old.

Have you tried clearing them all and seeing which ones come back.

that looks like a battery issue.

the battery seems ok, though it did start doing the abs/esp faults when the snow happened about three weeks ago. i told my friend to disconnect the battery to see if it would clear the abs fault, it didnt, instead it brought on the pas light (yellow) and had limited pas. after the stealer replaced the angle sensor it now has no pas at low speed. ive tried setting the angle sensor up using the basic settings procedure, this doesnt seem to work, as the angle in the measure block is 0.0' not -1.5 to +1.5 as described. so anyway i tried the steering limit setting and no joy. no pas and when the steering wheel is turned no angle readings in vcds.

A lot of those faults look old.

if i clear them most of it goes, the above list was what was in the ecu after the main stealer had spent a week fidiling. most of it goes if i clear all dtc's, apart from the abs and pas stuff, but is it wont start it throws a load of comm errors up.

If you're getting faults on 3 out of 4 abs sensors it would suggest a wiring problem, perhaps close to the abs controller or perhaps a problem with the controller. Does the wiring and plug around the abs unit all look OK, no sign of moisture/corrosion?

I don't think so, but I couldn't say for definite whether it does or not.

I would start by looking at power/battery first personally, it seems to be a common cause of multiple fault codes

Ruling out the Battery is a good idea......perhaps measure the resting voltage of the battery with a digital voltmeter, and repeat the test while the engine is cranking, and see what figures it's producing.

how do you know that, because you fitted one last year/month yesterday? Or did you have it tested, today?
