GT4 - Challenge II - Vag Tuner

Featured Replies

Hello guys and gal(s) :D

As you probably remember it was a sad day when we found out Skoda would not be appearing in GT4 :( , but time has passed and the wounds have healed (almost).

I have also come to appreciate all things Vag, especially seeing people on this forum who drive Seats and Volkswagens sharing tuning knowledge :grouphug:

I suppose to share an engine is really to share a heart :rubchin:

This will be a two class challenge

Rules:

Class 2

Car: Anything Vag with an engine of 1800cc or less.

Turbo is permitted

Nitrous is NOT allowed (makes things too unpredictable IMO)

Racing Medium Tyres (good blend of performance and cost)

Spoilers are allowed

Class 1 'Unlimited'

Car: Any Vag road car.

Unlimited modifications

Post your car/class/power/laptime

I was thinking Deep Forest would be a good track for this challenge, but if anyone would prefer another, or has any other suggestions i will edit this post :)

Just to get us all in the mood - here's one I took earlier ;)

"sppoilers are allowed" - do they actually make a difference then?

Nice picture :)

Spoilers do make a difference, they make the car look much uglier :D

Seriously though, i think they do reduce understeer when you crank the front up to full.

Is the pikey mod mk2 allowed if I run a TDI?

Deep Forest sounds good - I wonder how hard you can tune a Lupo :D

:bump: Anyone thought of extending these rules to do the nurburgring. I like the idea of trying to blat around there in any VAG car limited to a 1.8 engine.

Anyone else up for this? Post up times below if you fancy it. :D I'll have a go tonight - I must have a tuned up 1.8 somewhere in my garage. :o

I will have a go at this - i have just the VW in mind for the unlimited stuff ;)

VW or VAG? ;) Don't forget the unlimited one HAS to be a road going car, so rules out all the "race-cars" "touring cars" etc. Got to be a modded road going car you buy in the garage...

I'm going to stick to the "unlimited" 1.8 thing first for a bit of fun. I vaguely remember having a circa 400bhp Lupo in the garage, but not sure it will be very good around the Ring. Might be a better VAG car out there, may be an older one? ;)

forget that much power in a FWD car if it's a short track, only on a longer track would you be able to make the most of it.

I have a very nice 3.2 Audi TT that is fairly quick.

No NOS on the first one class :( :thumbdwn:

I've got a Lupo with everything on - you have to make sure you get it set up right or it handles like a bag of llama turds.

class 2:-

lupo GTi cup car

266bhp

1'27.433

mybest so far :)

Is this on Deep Forest or Nurburgring, Bengie? ;) Good time for the Ring that!:rofl:

class 1:-

audiRS4

643bhp

1'12.9

might give RS6 a go :D

TSK!!

deepforest J, would be amazing if it was the ring :D

Jason! You resurrected my thread

Funny i never thought this would be seen again. I shall have to get my 1.8T ibiza and audi TT out of retirement :D

 I spotted in the list of "similar threads" in the other Ring challenge thread. ;)

Gonna have some fun tonight. I love these little challenges.

Right - Found something a bit nippy that had been in my garage all the time, just begging for a tune up, and its a road legal Audi too. Now pushing 900bhp. ;) Its something called a "nuvello" or something like that.... very tuneable and damned quick. Got 217 down the long straight and my first sub 7 minute time, 6:57.

Going to have a go at Deep Forest now.

EDIT: bengie! I only managed to knock a second off your time. :( Its quite a tough course which seems hard to get perfect. My Audi did it in 1:11.9 which I guess isn't bad, but it could be better given the amount of skidding sideways, etc. :o:rolleyes:

your cheating J, that isn't a production car its a prototype!!!

go get a real car and do it again!

and with over 250bhp more than me(about 45% of my power) you were only 1sec quicker :D

Still a big hunk of Audi though... :( This "nuvello" thing reminds me of a bloody Audi A8. not the easiest car to pilot, but damn its quick in a straight line. :)

edit: Prototype is it? Just says its an Audi, but I guess if you can't buy it doesn't count. I concede, and will go get something else. :)

Ive got a 450bhp 1.8T beetle :D

only other option for more power is to drop the R32 engine in it ;)

col you on about forza??

we are on about GT4
