Humming / vibration between 1800-1900rpm 1.2 TSI

Featured Replies

Hello guys :)

first post on this forum. (very informative forum, btw)

I own a 2010 yeti 1.2TSI with 44000km on the clock.

I started to notice a strange sound/humming/vibration when accelerating between 1700 and 1900rpm on 4th 5th and 6th Gear (1st 2nd and 3rd accelerate a bit too fast to really notice it). The vibration is very "low pitched", and you can feel it on you entire body.

It only happens when the throttle is applied and never happens between idle/1800rpm and 2000/6000rpm

I have read on this forum that the wastegate and chain cause some noises, but I haven't seen this exact description.

I would appreciate the help :)

Try a search of the forum I think a vibration similar to yours was found to be a brake pipe under the battery tray.

Also the air con pipes where they run up the engine bay and go through the bulkhead, can't remember if they were petrol or diesel.

I found the threads you are talking about :) The air con pipe thread has a picture so I will try that first. The brake pipe doesn't have a picture it seems to be a dealer type job to do.

I'll report back :)

Air con pipe is a negative. Didn't solve it. I'll keep searching
