Give me the run down

Featured Replies

So I am going to try and fit the HIDS in my fabia myself, I have no idea how to do this and was looking for some advice or maybe someone is local and can help?

I am based in Warwickshire just in case someone fancies helping :)

The image shows what the kit includes

Drill :drunk: That sounds dangerous :) I work in an office

Dude...it took you 30 minutes?!?!? You must have the smallest little baby hands ever! :p

In all seriousness, I have a similar looking kit to you. Took me about 2 hours all in. Hardest bit for me was getting the bulbs to seat correctly as quite a tight squeeze behind the light units on each side. Make sure to get the lights aligned afterwards! They will be all over the shop once done.

Good luck

Can any garage align them?

Not really small hands but ive fiddled with plenty of awkward fitting bulbs so it seemed pretty easy to me.. changed the side lights to leds as well gives it a much better look

Take the bumper off, it's so much easier, and you can find somewhere neat for the ballasts to go.

I would advise you to go for the H7R kit.

Btw there are people trying to contact you in the 2 F/S threads you have posted regarding your EGR delete.

Hope these are going in projector headlights. I tried a similar looking H7 kit - reputable place. The beam was all over the shop and was getting flashed by lots of people. I removed them after 2 days and got rid. Now have projector lights which are much better.

Ive got the H7R's in mine and ther much better than standard H7's more road friendly tbh

Any got a video on installing them?

No offence, but you're asking for instructions on basically how to install a set of bulbs?

Any HID kit in the reflectors look ****e and scatter all over the place. There is a reason Skoda designed a completely different headlight for xenons. Get projectors or just fit uprated bulbs.

hahah My kit has wiring to it as well :) and someone mentioned drilling

Yes, the kit came with instructions, I can see them in the picture. Have you read them?

Drilling as in the back headlight covers, as you'll need to pass the wires out as there is no room for the ballast in the Fabia headlight.

Firstly as already said. Read the instructions!!! :)

  • Take of the plastic panel behind the light
  • Drill with a hole cutter or something similar to suit the size of the grommet (rubber disc thing) on the bulbs.
  • Swap the original bulb for your HID asif it was an ordinary bulb. Carefully thread the wires through the metal retaining clip to hold the bulb in. Or remove it and clip it back in over the wires.
  • Plug the wires into your ballest.
  • Find somewhere to put the ballests so they are secure. Preferably use the brackets they come with and screw them to something.

I have just fitted a set of HID's (into projector lights) on my Roomster. I'd happily assist fitting these ones to your Fabia. I'm in Hinckley.

As others have highlighted though, if they are H7 HID's they'll scatter and cause irritation to other road users. For reflector headlights you should consider H7R.

+1 for H7r they are much better. I currently have my HID's in reflectors and i know its not ideal but i have never been flashed or anything. They will stay there until i have saved enough pennies for some proper projector headlights which should hopefully be in the next few months :)

I have H7R is mine and they are ok, get flashed when there at the top but one notch down on the leveller and there fine
