Rust....

Featured Replies

Washed the car today and done my usual drying all door boot and bonnets sills, when i noticed this on the boot.

When its open there is a whole as you look up not sure if its for drainage or what?

then drying the bootlid its self the seam where the two parts are bonded is bubbling.

4yrs old and rust... not something i have ever come across in a car.

Not good! Four years old you say? I'd be on to Skoda pronto to see if they'll sort it!

Not the sort of thing they'd want publicised!

Known issue too see rust on the tailgate seam.

Mine has plenty of minor rust ok on it.

Sills above the stone guard are worst.

Also some along the door shuts where the seals have rubbed away the paint. This shouldn't be an issue on later cars as I think they started fitting softer seals.

Not expecting rust in a 4 year old car? In the good old days, a Vauxhall Victor or Austin 1100 would just be a heap of brown dust by that age! Ahh ... the good old days!

I thought skoda had a 10 year bodywork guarantee?

Which has more holes in it than the car itself!
