ARB or spring/dampers

Featured Replies

What's the relative benefit / £££

I've read a RARB is the next best thing after a stage 1 map for ££ improvement. I'm not considering coilovers, even if/when its out of warranty etc etc as I spend too much time in it on the m-way to even consider making it harsher.

Rear ARB makes a huge difference in the Octavia. I was shocked at the difference the updated one makes. You have to be careful not to clip the inside of a roundabout!

Why? Because the turn in us much sharper?

Next q: how much would you expect to pay to have one supplied and fitted?

Yes, much better turn in and grip on the rear. They are about £160 ish and probably looking at and hour or so to fit.

Also will make your car far better on the motorway. It will feel much more stable at higher speeds .

does it affect warranty in any possible way?

Like any modification, it could be used as a reason to refuse a claim. Have a look through the Terms and Conditions, it usually mentions use of non approved parts. Depends on who is dealing with the claim as to whether a fuss is made. Last T&Cs I read (non VAG) it expressly mentioned ANY change or modification voiding the warranty.

I have a Whiteline RARB. Combined with a decent 4 wheel alignment, it transformed the roadholding and handling.
