7hr cleaning session leaves me sad :'(

Featured Replies

Well yesterday i spend 7 hours on one of my mad detailing sessions and a wee hour this morning on the wheels...no pictures this time tho so maybe a sneaky attention grabbing title :giggle: Anyway whilst giving the car a going over i noticed a few little things with the car i'm not happy about.

1. The passenger side front drl has moisture inside it

2. the driver side rear light has moisture in it.

3. While claying and applying wheel sealant i noticed some kind of pitting on a rear wheel, not sure what this is i'll maybe ask my wheel refurb specialist friend

4. This isn't related to the cleaning in anyway but the MFSW has a fault with the little wheel that selects options on the maxidot, it works fine for scrolling but the actual push to select function is temperamental. SO FRUSTRATING!! :wall:

I popped by the dealership and the chap gave me the number for service and said to give them a call tomorrow, are these covered by warranty? I know they're really just niggely, other than the steering wheel which is easily the worst, but the cars only 18 months old and only done 16k!

Anyone else had any similar issues?

(p.s. i may pop pictures up at a later date)

If you aint happy, take it to the dealer and ask them to sort the issues, especially as its in warranty.

The MFSW thing, that should work, so expect them to sort it!

The condensation thing in the lights, not sure, never really paid too much attention to mine, I know there is nothing in my rear lights, but the LED's on the front I havent really paid close attention too, so cant answer that. It might be worth seeing what the lights are like after a few days dry weather maybe?? If they dry out but are damp inside when it rains then that woudl seem like a leak into teh fitting to me, and that would in my opinion need addressing.

They are the dealer, you are the customer, get em to sort it.

what dealer did you go to Iain ?

rear light can be easily taken out and dried in the house .Fl wheels are known for pitting

I think one of my rear lights gets condensation in it, tbh I've never let it bother me and just put it down to temperature differences and I've had lots of cars with a similar issue.

I've not had a problem with my MFSW

OEM FL wheels aren't the best prepared from factory. I clayed and sealed mine as soon as I got the car and they get redone each Autumn when I swap over to my winter wheels, took them in for some new tyres a week or two back and was asked if I'd had them refurbed, when I asked why expecting the chap to say 'there's some overspray' or something he just said 'I've never seen a set of wheels so clean, not even when new' he then went on to ask how I kept them so clean but soon went glassy eyed as I explained the procedure :D

As said, if you're not happy get it back to the dealer although, I hope you have a better dealer than I.

Was Arnold Clark Linwood Allan, was behind your bro in his green vrs on my way down yesterday actually LOL

I've heard of older cars having condensation in the lights before, but surely a newer car shouldn't suffer from it?

Alkip, you sound as bad as me LMAO! Folk don't beleive me when i say my wheels are needing a clean, it's only the face that is all cleaned and sealed, the whole wheel needs to come off and get de-tar'd and sealed...but thats a job for the summer haha

Cars booked in for wednesday so we'll see what they say!

yeah he gets about in it lol. Good luck with that dealer :bandit:. i used them when it was a VW garage lets just say i wouldn't use them again after the " master tech " tried to tell me a flashing oil warning light on a vw transporter was normal. Better going to a local zoo and give the monkey's a diagnostic computer and some tools they would do a better job

Aye they're pathetic, my girlfriends bro is working as a mechanic in VX next door so i'll say to him to deal with it for me save me the grief of their stupidity :wall: I called and asked if they'd be able to have a look at it on friday or saturday and they said it was "to technical a job for a half day".....To look and see if a button needs replaced and if so, replace it and look at a couple lights!? So i feeel that may set the tone for there service

Better going to Henry's in Glasgow matey.

Well went down today, can't complain at all about the service, was spot on. Turned out i just waited on it instead of taking the courtesy car and they sorted the issue with the steering wheel button and said the lights will be replaced under warranty so they'll order them and get me booked in for next wee. Really surprised as i've heard so many bad things about that dealer when it was vw and my mum had real bother with them when it was vw as well :whew:

glad they sorted it for you :whew:
