Shipwrecks

Featured Replies

It makes you wonder when you go places like that what it actually did when it was alive and kicking, all the memories and stuff.

Yeah, I find shipwrecks a bit sad and creepy in a way. It's a shame...

They look like skeletons!

Where were these taken?

They look great Loz :-)

Again where were they taken?

Thanks :) they are in fleetwood of all places!

Once proud is my favourite.

Lol thanks, had to give them names for Flickr, otherwise it just uses the file name! Nothing worse than people who bulk upload 500 photos, all with titles like 'DSC000647' haha!

I had a feeling these were taken around Fleetwood. I think the whole of Fleetwood is becoming a bit ghostly, especially with the ferry port being closed now. These are some great pictures though. B)

Can't say fleetwood is somewhere I ever go, but I'd heard about/seen photos of these and wanted to find them for a while!

I've only gone for a trip out to the Freeport shopping centre when i've been in Blackpool for a weekend and we normally take the bus there and then walk to the tram stop to take the tram back.

Never seems to be much at Freeport, not been for years!

Wonder if anyone knows any information about these boats. I don't know if they used to be moored there and just got abandoned or whether they all happened to get beached?!

Doesn't black and white bring more depth into photos, when I used to take photos I loved using B&w

Yes, sometimes it does. I'm not always a b&w fan, it has to be the 'right photo'. With these I decided to do it because it makes them a bit more atmospheric, they could be anywhere, anytime. Colour sometimes gives too much away.

I do like some of them in colour, but I thought a mixed set would ruin it and they should all be the same editing wise.

Ah 28DL :) lol. Love urbex, would like to do more

great pics loz. Guessing your a photographer?

I'm a hobby photographer, just getting a website set up to give it a go as a sideline :)

Cool

Some great shots there. Been to Fleetwood many times as my parent live not far away from there but everytime ive been its been too difficult to get out to those wrecks. Just down there road is a little place called Skippool Creek. Some ok shots to be had there too aswell as a nice old wreck. See below:

I've been to skippool creek but I think it was dark lol! Might go and have a look, never really looked at what was there!

HDR? I don't usually have the patience for those :) looks good though

Yeh its a pretty strange place to be honest. Ive been there at all different times of the day in all different weather. Some great night shots to be had with a bit of creative light painting.

Yeh its HDR, made up of 12 images, taken on Xmas Day 2010. Took a little while to get right and tweek but all good fun.
