Is this too much of a bargain?

Featured Replies

Came across this. And if there is one thing that I learnt from you all. If it looks like a pig and sounds like a pig. Then it is a pig!

It says something about the gears being stiff. But at the price they want. It sounds WAY too much of a bargain.

Thoughts anyone?

But look at the state of it. Its not an estate so doesnt have that value, but it is diesel, but its a mess in general, wouldnt pay £950 for it.

Going by the state of the interior, I.E. the rear section of the center console being rather trashed. And that the seller hasnt bothered to give it a good clean to make the car look presentable I would carry on searching.

Stiff gears.................. I would walk.

It may just be me but even if the car hasnt been prepared for resale then I wont even look, even if its low mileage etc etc. If they cannot care about the appearance of the car then I can only assume that they dont care for car in general, Service intervals, proper maintenance of the turbo, correct oil blah blah blah. You buy cheap you buy twice.

Probably just me with OCD but thats my opinion.

They dont make a mk1 superb estate. ;-)

Looks like the n/s/r door has been painted,it looks a slighty different shade of silver.

I know I was trying to say a Diesel estate of any sort has IMHO a latent value of circa £1250, just didnt word it well enough.

New passenger headlight needed, Unmatching NSR door, dent in NSF wing, Driver side front door issue by the looks of it, ****e interior (looks like it been in a river), potential new clutch or gearbox soon, solf touch stuff on the dashboard worn out, but not expensive to replace, its just not going to be worth it.

Ha its a Superb too....................................... FAIL :wall:

I can also see nearside wing is chewed a little on enlarging the photo. Right by the light.

You know the strangest thing is that I spoke to a dealer the other day, coz I went to the West Oxfordshire Motor Auctions, and saw cars going for forecourt money! And the dealer said to me that it is a supply and demand issue at the moment. Everyone wants diesels and people are willing to pay.

I saw an 04 Octavia Ambient go for £3.5K! and it had 140K! Its mad out there.

Think I might ask £3K for my nissan estate. Its only got 93K and all service history from PDI right up until now! Its a rare 2.0L petrol SE+ 6 Speed.

It looks it has had a back door replaced or painted the wrong colour. But I would at least go have a look at and see if you can get him to knock a couple of 100 of it.Also you could have a look at the latest MOT and see what advisories are on it.

Plenty I reckon judging by the bodywork

My 2004 classic estate was £770. Had to replace all tyres, windscreen wiper motor, turbo oil pipe, full service. Front discs and pads.

It needs all bushes doing.

I have done 8000 winter miles at 57mpg in 3 months.
