my roof lace pattern opinions

Featured Replies

right guys as some may know im doing an old hotrod/ f2 trick and ghosting some old 80's lace net curtain on my roof (bare with me as it does even to me sound stupid lol) but anyone whose seen it and i believe theres a few who have it looks nuts when done and done right

im thinking of a anthracite with a little sparkle in ghosted so you can see it there but need to look properly to see all the detail and not too in your face

this is one of the patterns im thinking what do you guys think?

the pattern is just an idea of what i mean there are loads of designs so im going to a curtain company fabric shop thing and have a look at a few types

Do you have any pictures of this done to other cars?

Would help as I can't even picture it in my head.

I like the idea of subtle and shadow.

Opposed to a bigger design with a bolder contrast like this Mexican hearse.

What's ghosting? Is it like waterproof wallpaper? Looks exciting :D

In terms of pattern I prefer something with softer lines like the Hurst, bigger pattern will probably help too.

Unfortunately I old enough to have seen this a few times in the past. It can look very good or very bad depending on the patten, colour and depth of effect.

Should be interesting to see the end result.

Subtle is the way to go IMHO.

DEFNITLY mate subtle is my option im thinking maybe antracite to blend in with the paintwork so you can see if if you specificaly look but if you walk past your not drwan to it if that makes sense

Thats sounds great, I know a lot of the pattern are of a floral design but I'm sure I've seen some abstract designs out there, that would be good.

well theres a curtain thingy company that sells loads of designs so im sure i will pick a good one its not as if im stuck with just one design lol

i don't know where you live big Deano, but try the rag market in Birmingham, you won't be disappointed for choice

Why?

Why?

to be a little different. :) When I wanted my roof painted black and I knew I didn't want "just black" which is why I got the bodyshop to add a lilac flake to the topcoat when it was done. Its subtle enough to not be seen from a distance, but up close it sparkles. :D

excactly that bud to be diffrent same old same old all the time gets extremily boring plus im looking to go into show and shine competitions and little details like can mean either winning or losing

Geometric would be more bloke-y IMO. Have seen some with an intermittent diamond pattern that could work. Also reckon Paisley could work if you could find it.
