Hi,

I am driving a 99 Octavia 1.9TDI which I bought new, and I have put up 144K miles on it. I am extremely happy with this car, and I intend driving it till it gives up the ghost.Apart from normal servicing the only major thing I have had to replace was the clutch at 77K which I thought was a bit early, but most of that mileage was put up in city driving.I have just replaced the anti roll bar links and the wishbone bushes as they were knocking badly, and the knocking soubds are still there when driving in the dry, and vanish when driving in the wet.

anybody got any ideas Please.

Cant help with your problem, but welcome to Briskoda. I am sure someone can help.

Not a clue but WELCOME :orb_wave:

Thanks for the words of welcome. They are appreciated.

As I was saying I intend to drive my Octavia for as long as I can. Apart from liking the car so much, I really want to P off those people who told me in 1999 that I was mad,and ran thro the gamut of all the Skoda jokes at my expense.I am making them eat their words. And when I mention the fuel miserliness of it, it really makes them sick.
