Front hub needed

Featured Replies

thats a good point, pattern wings are never the same as gen, i fitted one a few months ago, and although pretty good, it wasnt perfect, and needed a bit of encouragement to sit right.

I beleive the wing genuine, the gap between the inside of the wheel and the strut on pass side is about a finger and the gap between the drivers is two fingers. If you look closely at pass side you can tell its sat in where as drivers side looks correct. Heres some pics, dont know if you be able to tell by these though.

Might be a daft suggestion but have you checked the springs there might be part of a turn missing which would give you your gap/camber differences

Yeah had it all stripped at work on friday, hopefully a hub will sort it, if it is the hub i will be amazed but there cant be anything else as its all been checked. Looking at it today it doesnt look to bad really but ive just put 4 tyres on and dont want them to end up like the old ones on the front. ( Racing slicks)

its definetly a weird one, have you had it fully aligned and tracked up ?

  • Author

Yeah but im going to get it done again this week. Should recieve the hub on tuesday so will fit that and get it tracked and aligned again

fingers crossed it all works out :) i would be really surprised if it is the hub

I have a spare subframe, set of arms (altho bushs are shot) and a rack if you find anything else thats bent,

have you checked to make sure all 3 bolts are fitted right on the ball joints on the lower arms??

  • Author

Yeah they look correct, if for instance i need subframe etc etc how much would you want and where abouts are you?

Stiffer subframe bushes, stiffer arm bushes, cast lower arms with camber correction on the rear bushes (which gives a lot more adjustability especially when lowering), different rate steering rack (only 2.5 turns lock to lock IIRC), upgraded power steering pump, better hubs, stiffer arb, there's probably more I'm forgetting about.

Have you checked that the ball joints are on the correct sides? Or the correct handed one fitted to the side that's giving trouble.

I've seen bent hubs but they don't bend on their own, there is usually a lot of damage with it.

I didn't bother with power steering pump as i like the stiffer steering

Same here. Better feel from the VRS pump.

The R32 front end set up is heaps better than std VRS certainty when car is sitting lower.
