Hi guys and gals, I'm sure this has been bought up numerous times already, but I couldn't find anything via a search!

I have a '55 Vrs with the usual pd130 tdi engine, looking to do an oil change ect.

What's the best overall oil to use and what filter. I know this is a minefield subject, but I appreciate any feedback!

quantum platinum 5-40w fully synthetic.

and i guess the oil filter that if you ring a skoda dealer they'll recommend you buy from them.

did you really do a search, because there are loads of threads on this. i looked earlier as i am doing my own service on Sunday. its interesting to knowthat the oil filter is the insert type, rather than the one that hangs out or under the engine.i would have been searching for it for hours i reckon!

Or if you want the more expensive oil then quantum longlife 3

isn't the platinum the one skoda recommends anyway. anything more would surely be a waste of money

Yes more than enough

I know 5ltrs is defo enough for a change.

I could only find one article regarding one specific article.

5l is enough.

I just use the better longlife 3 for peace of mind!

Especially as i own an ARL engine code pd150 (notorious for weak camshaft)
