Hi all - I am considering taking the coil over route - the car is currently on the factory suspension set up - has been mapped to 185bhp, 310ft/lb.

As I am not that technically minded I hope that someone can answer my query - I have seen JOM Blueline Coilover for approx £180 and FK Coilover Highsport £400 -

What is the difference that costs more than double -

Would this change actually benefit the car/me -

Had JOMS before, all I will say is they are that price for a reason. I know people run them with no problems but equally I know people who have ran than with problems.

Personally invest a bit more.

The cost difference is the same as anything, more money put into developing them, better materials to make them etc. plenty of owner reviews & comments on here of most makes of coilovers.

I recently removed my JOMs, so Bowen is totally correct. For the money they are good, but they do no provide a comfortable ride as in my opinion the preload is too high and is non adjustable resulting in the car being very bouncy on some roads, but fine over bumpy ground at slower speeds.

It was a shame as they cost so little.

I've went back to standard in the mean time, but may upgrade to Eibach proline springs and standard shocks soon.

ve just ordered the JOMs for £180 so I will be fitting them this week when they arrive and I will lt you know what they ride like. Im on some really bouncy lowering springs at the min so it will be interesting to see what happens

One thing tho. What hight is everyone having them? As this will make a big diff to the ride quality.

I am just looking at something to replace the buggered std stuff on mine and dont want to pay a fortune on it. Also want to go a fraction lower to neaten it up as lile the mk1 octy the front is too high

Im going for a sensible drop prob about 40-50mm. I will post pics and of the drop and how it rides when I fit them, should hopefully be wed/thurs
