Fitting Brake Light Switch

Featured Replies

Wife had the dreaded 'flashing coil' sign come on this Saturday. I duely ordered this from Eurocarparts as it looked the most similar to the original fitted:

Fabia Brake Light Switch

I've read that there are various ways to fit these. Some say to depress the brake pedal, fit it then extend the plunger; others to just to push it in.

Any pointers most welcome.

i depressed the pedal then put switch in and twist .... job should only take 10 - 15 mins

Thanks Holmesie, I'll try it that way.

It took some fiddling about to get it to work when I did it.

Probs took at least half an hour from start to finish.

Thanks all. Part arrived in the post the other day. Instructions say - pull out plunger 1/4 inch beyond orginal position. Do NOT depress brake pedal. Push fit and turn new switch into position. I guess I'll be doing just that - if only I knew what the position of the original plunger was. I took it out nad have been playing with it. Doh!
