How do remove rear caliper?

Featured Replies

Didn't Jason have something like this? I think the AA's idea was something was stuck in the pad, have you checked this? Maybe something has got caught, the idea was to reverse back at about 30mph to loosen it. I'll find the thread of his first for you, see if it's relevant.

That was due to a stone being lodged between the back of the disc, and the metallic guard that wraps around the disc over the top. Its happened since too, and I've found the best way to cure is to whack the side of the guard with a BIG screwdriver which dislodges the aforementioned stone causing the metallic grinding/squeaking noise.

Never had an issue with pads squeaking oddly. Mine do squeak on a regular basis, but thats due to them being DS2500s, which I accept squeak anyway, :D

If I just brake to a halt, jack up both sides the OS is 'stiff' the N/S rotates freely. Must be 'stiction' somewhere in the mechanism
