strangest thing just happened, I bought a new car !

No special tools required for the springs, unless you count a 36mm bi hex socket for the front hub nuts and some basic spring compressors.

A garage should take 3 hours at the most for front and rear...2 hours if they have done the job before.

  • Nice Dave..Great deal too Welcome back again mate But is black a wise choice given your lack of regular car cleaning?

    blackandwhite

So then , you going to call your car 'Black' and I shall call my car 'White' ? because I've still not got a name for it ! The takeaway delivery drivers are going to get even more confused now ...

My garage took less than 3 hours including fitting the ARB and a full geo set up !!

Dont blame your Sharkrider, I cant see me owning this car outside warranty but i will see it as a personal failure if i haven't seen the engine off by then and had a shiny new one :)

Noooooo, another black estate!

Just get those Lowering Springs fitted now!

That's bloody gorgeous :) I'd call it bagheera

Good choice.

Newer engine and a better balanced/looking estate that's lighter and quicker.

Yes, I'm more a fan of the estate styling too.

Just ran a quote on Confused for a Fabia VRS estate, 150 quid, seriously!!!!

Granted at 57 I ain't no spring chicken, but that is 50 notes less than I am paying at present for a 1.4tsi octy.

Again seriously, is this a realistic price? VED is 135p/a, how can a mental little monster like this be so cheep to run?

Just need to check my toys will fit in the back now, will be gutted if they don't.

Yes, i pay £147 for proper cover, with matched NCB from other vehicles.

some want that or more for a Citigo, but i can get cover at £103 on one..

I pay £430, but the I have driving instructor insurance for anyone to drive it, plus all the professional indemnity stuff ect, plus business use for my other job (employers). So still not bad :)

I pay £580 but then I am just a wee bairn in comparison...

Nice Dave..Great deal too

Welcome back again mate

To be fair, Daves car was cleaner than mine after this weekends driving...

Green doesnt show the dirt Damo

Once you've gone black you'll never go back :D

The boot on the Estate is genuinely bigger than that of the Yeti.

I do believe it is. :)

But then the Yeti is compromised there as it has more passenger space.

Both cars are almost exactly the same length.

is kinda deliberate Chris... its going to MAKE me clean it, thats why i'm having the waxoil thing done too (so it cleans easier) they treat the wheels too.... my current car has suffered for it, I described it as "average" for the outside condition for the trade in, and I'm having to work at getting it to that level! lol... currently removing tar spots......

Best thing for tar spots is auto glym tar remover - my white car shows them up badly so did the whole lower half of the car and then polished after washing a few weeks back :)

Parents have a 1.8tsi yeti elegance and its always fun to see who is faster and has more room :)

Well been over to the dealer this afternoon, toys dont fit, boot is just to short.

Looks like I will be staying with the octy for now, got an invite to the Octy 3 launch mid March, so well see, just tragic I can't afford one with a proper engine.

Autosmart Tardis...the best for tar removal by far ..Get some Dave

i was 550 last year all mods declared but im a young hoolagin.

insurance is due though. hopecto break into the 300...

quoting doesnt seem to be working on my phone.. grrr...

tardis is awesome. but so is petrol ;-)

Misfire on cylinder 3 and 4 today limp mode and dashboard like a Christmas tree.. Skoda assist out and it was a "pending" fault so it wasn't there when he was. So they cleared the error n sent me on my way. Looks like I'm going to have to price up a spanker as well!

Yeah I think thats where I'm heading today. Hopefully all the options I want wont make the price rocket too much.

Sharkrider I would be interested to know what your repayments are (bit of a personal question though).

After all I have said in this thread I have actually e-mailed my dealer to ask what deal they can do on a new VRS with a long warranty...

Not sure they will get close to my current repayments, and if I got a new VRS I couldnt afford to spec it up to match my current one.
