Skoda Favorit. Worth anything to anyone? Or just send it to the scap yard..

Featured Replies

I have a M reg Skoda Favorit LXie Plus has been off the road for a couple of years and sat around, in a bit of a sorry state, but still in original condition.

Does anyone know if people are after these? Or anyone would like to take it off my hands, or should i just send it to the scrap yard?

If I was closer to you I'd snap your arm clean out of the socket for a favorit, they are becoming rare beasties now.

That was when i've first got it.. to say i abused it is an understatement, the bonnet was painted in chalkboard black paint.. The arches have taken a battering, i've bolted the front bumper on with m8 bolts (strong as hell btw) off side headlight is cracked.

The engine runs but has a problem cuts out now and again then won't start.

Also ran a health 67bhp (bang on standard on the rollers)

Hope i'm not breaking any rules by posting this.. But i just need to get wrid of it as my boss is getting annoyed with too many of my cars being parked at work.

that thing could be the next motorsport legend..... You do need to be a freedom member on here to post for sale threads however,

eBay is your best bet for that... If i had that I would ruin it by putting a silly engine in it and abusing it to death.

If I had a few hundred bar I'd have it I suppose.

Always wanted a Favorit since owning a Felicia, but not sure why, maybe cause it's a proper Skoda! (Is that a good thing? :giggle: ).

I think they're ugly as sin but charming for it. Never be able to run it as it should be run though, so I'd probably just run it into the ground, which just isn't fair.

I wouldn't even want a couple £100 for it to be honest.. A little over scrap value, i will get some more photos of its sorry condition.

If I had my own place, I'd genuinely have it. Not sure my neighbours would appreciate a fourth car between me and me dad. Someone'll have it though mate, like Tom says, might get a decent little bit off eBay, even if you get £150, its better than a kick in the teeth.

Believe me someone will snap up that Fav! Probably ebay in the first instance but you may well land a pm from a brisky member! ;)

I would normally pull this for being a non freedom advert, but have decided its verging on being an offer of "free" bearing in mind scrap value VS wanted for this car, so for the moment, I am going to let it run.

I would rather you paid the £12 for freedom membership though - especially if you intend on sticking around or if you have another Skoda.

Thanks, I didn't mean to break any rules, I would rather the car went to someone who could maybe restore it or get it running again.. instead of sending it to the scrap yard.

By the way just to make it clear, the photos of the car are when i first owned it... Since then it has been damaged. Both wings are dented, off side headlight is cracked, one or two of the doors has a battle mark on from when my mate rammed me. Also has a rear tow bar, front bumper is just drilled and bolted on. The bottom of the gear box has taken a shaving from green laning. The dash board has a tear in it from when i took it out, the speedo cable needs to be put back in the dials. The boot is stickered up. Had a new water pump when i owned it and a few coil packs.

If I was you I'd sell something else and keep this. There are currently none of these for sale on Autotrader, ebay or Gumtree so they really are getting scarce now.

Even in a banged up and abused condition?

OK, not so sure! I know the rat car look is popular, though it doesn't appeal to me (though I do also own a red car with a black bonnet). You'd think someone could at least take it for spares. Good luck.

I'd love to have this.

Scraping, over banded g60's or the like, rack, rust, amber lights and other rat necessities! Seeing as it seems already battered? Or is it salvageable?

Only if you was in the Midlands!

I wil try and get some photos of it tomorrow. It isn't that bad and could be put back on the road with a little TLC.

i'd have this aswell i've a rally car one off theses and i'm really struggling for parts, if i do see parts i need they charge crazy prices, definately do not scrap as few people have said they are getting very rare.

Door rotted out welded a plate on, but couldn't find any hardener for the filler at work, so just gunked it up with silicone.

That looks salvageable! Forget the rat ideas - wish I lived closer.

Going on eBay tonight, and yes near Plymouth.

Good luck with sale. I wish it had MOT.
