Hi Racing Boy

Yes, that oil is what you should be using. Did yours come in a black zippered case?

Your oil consumption doesn't seem excessive for an engine where the piston rings are still bedding in.

Check the oil specification for your engine, and stick to it. Exact grade will depend on whether you are on fixed or variable servicing.

These engines don't take kindly to using non-specification oils.

hi ksr, yes it is in black case that Velcros to the carpet, where do you get this from? m local store only has the carlube stuff and it say in the engine bay that castol is best suited to the engine, i take it you should buy the oil from the dealer? here is a quick pic of the case

You'll be able to get either the castrol or the Skoda equivelent from the dealer, which personally I'd stick with. Your oil consumption is fine, nothing to worry about at all.

VW507.00 is what you are looking for.

Castrol Edge is the quality stuff. I'd stick with it. Do you have a Costco card? If so, Costco is the cheapest place for you to buy it locally.

Opie oils, who advertise on here, can supply mail order, but probably not any cheaper than Costco.
